If you followed our recent spring cleaning checklist, your home is probably looking pretty spic and span. Now it’s time to spruce things up a little bit and give your home a decorative refresh. Here are some fresh decorating ideas for spring!
1. A Pop of Colour
One of the easiest ways to refresh a room is by adding a small pop of colour. It’s also an inexpensive way to change up your décor. Pick up an accent pillow or throw in a bright colour or print to make your room feel much more spring-like. If you’re looking for even more of a commitment, a colourful area rug or even furniture can really brighten up a drab room.
2. Fresh Cut Flowers
Who doesn’t love a fresh bunch of spring flowers? Not only will your home look nice, but they’ll smell beautiful as well. If you’re lucky enough to have a garden, keeping fresh flowers in your home is a cinch. If not, head to a local flower shop once in a while to make your home look and feel specia
3. Natural Elements
One of the biggest home design trends in 2019 is incorporating more natural elements in the home. Natural textiles and woven accents such as baskets add an earthy feel and make it easier to stay connected to nature from your living room. Also, leafy plants bring a touch of nature while simultaneously adding a pop of colour and air filtration benefits. It’s a win-win!
4. Cheerful Artwork
Switching out the art on your walls or adding a few new pieces can really change the look and feel of a room. For spring, opt for something bright and fun as a focal point. Or, create a gallery wall full of interesting and inspiring pictures for you and your guests to enjoy.
5. A Colourful Coat of Paint
This one is not for the faint-hearted, but it could have major payoff. Painting an entire room or even just an accent wall a different colour gives a fun, new personality to any room in your home. If you’re on the fence, there are a few apps out there that will let you virtually test out paint colours before you commit.
6. Natural Light
Now that the days are longer and we’re getting more daylight, let some of that beautiful natural light into your home! If your home has low light, try swapping out some of the window coverings for something lighter. For example, instead of thick, dark curtains, try something in a lighter colour with more translucency. This will maintain your privacy while still letting light into your home.
