As we say goodbye to summer, we say goodbye to the many design trends that we welcomed this year. As we look forward to fall home trends, one trend has captivated the world and is here to stay for the fall season. Which one is it you may ask? Natural elements.
Bringing the outside in has been the number one trend when it comes to home design. This may be because of the many months we were forced to spend indoors because of the COVID lockdown. As we welcome fall and all of its beauty, we believe that this trend will continue to power through the fall. Take a look at this year’s biggest home design trends and how they have complimented the number one trend of 2020. Let us know if you agree.
Rattan Furniture
Rattan is having a huge moment. No longer reserved for your grandmothers screened-in porch, wicker and rattan furniture have made a huge comeback this year. Not just for the outside patio anymore, today you can find this design trend in the interior of many homes. With fall fast arriving it is the perfect touch to balance modern and traditional styles in your home.
Floral Wallpaper
What says “Outside” more than floral prints. Although a classic in the design game, people have become creative in their uses of floral wallpaper. No longer a place where you would find it just in the family living room, today you can find this print on ceilings and in bathrooms. When it comes to colour palette, people have shifted to using more earthy, livelier, and warmer prints. A trend that will continue to grow into the next year.
Monochromatic Palettes
Offering a splash of colour without being too colourful, this trend hit the design world by storm. Harmonious and timeless are just a few words to describe this palette. This trend will continue into the fall with lovely classic warm colours like browns and oranges, as designers love this palette because it allows them to play with variation and contrast, while maintaining balance and harmony.
Weathered Furniture
Weathered furniture compliments this year’s trend by bringing natural elements like wood, clay, and ceramics into your home. For fall expect the colour palette to change into terracotta’s, greys, and patina.
Cozy Fabrics
This year has had us for a wild ride. During stressful times we all seek comfort, and what says comfort more than cozying up in a corner with a good book? This year cozy fabrics are soft textured mohairs, wool, fleece, and imperfect leathers and have replaced previous years fabrics like luxurious velvets and hard leathers.
